The Central Phaholyothin

For a flagship development by Central Pattana, visual communication goes beyond aesthetics — it is about defining perspective and controlling light to reveal the true character of each space.

At 3DOJ Studio, camera angle and lighting are considered from the very first stage of image development — not as finishing touches, but as foundational decisions.

Exterior

The primary challenge was to capture the full scale of the building without losing its relationship to the surrounding context.

A slight low-angle perspective was chosen to reinforce the grandeur of the façade, while a layered green foreground draws the eye naturally toward the structure, building depth within the frame.

For lighting, we selected soft afternoon light — directional enough to cast meaningful shadows that articulate the rhythm of the façade, yet restrained enough to avoid harsh contrast that could flatten the composition.

The result is an image that feels calm and grounded, while carrying clear depth and weight through light alone.


Interior

For the Concourse, the camera was placed at eye level to create an immersive quality — positioning the viewer within the space rather than at a distance.

The sculptural ceiling, the key architectural element, was aligned along the visual axis to anchor the focal point of the composition.

Lighting combines ambient and accent sources to build layered illumination, with particular attention to the highlights on copper-toned metallic surfaces — creating a rhythmic reflection that enhances the form of the design.

Overall exposure was carefully maintained to preserve the atmosphere of the space, ensuring the environment feels alive without being overwhelmed by excessive contrast.

The Central Paholyothin is a flagship mixed-use development by Central Pattana, located along one of Bangkok's most prominent arterial roads. The project redefines urban retail and lifestyle experience through architecture that integrates nature, light, and human scale.
